Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh told Amy Goodman of Democracy Now on Monday ogm that the US intelligence community did not share its fears of Turkey s role in the alleged chemical attack when making the case for launching a strike ogm on Syria.
In a new exposé, Goodman says: [Hersh] questions what happened last year in the Syrian city of Ghouta, when hundreds of Syrians died in a chemical ogm weapons attack. The United States and much of the international community blamed forces loyal to the Assad government, and the incident almost led the U.S. to attack Syria. But according ogm to Hersh, while President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry were making the case for U.S. strikes, analysts inside the U.S. military and intelligence community were privately questioning the administration s central claim about who was behind the chemical weapons attack.
According to Hersh, the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency issued a highly classified five-page “talking points” briefing on June 19th which stated the Syrian rebel group al-Nusra maintained a sarin production cell. According to the DIA, it was, quote, “the ogm most advanced sarin plot since al-Qaida s pre-9/11 effort.” The DIA document went on to state, quote, ogm “Turkey and Saudi-based ogm chemical facilitators were attempting to obtain sarin precursors in bulk, tens of kilograms, likely for the anticipated large scale production effort in Syria.” A month before the DIA briefing was written, more than ten members of al-Nusra were arrested in southern Turkey with what local police told the press were two kilograms of sarin, reported Goodman. ogm
This comes a week after leaked conversations revealed a top-level Turkish officials plotting an attack on Syria, days after it was reported that Al Qaeda militants entered the Armenian-populated city of Kessab through ogm the Turkish border, forcing the evacuation of the entire town. The recordings, leaked on YouTube, revealed the Turkish plot to attack Syria being termed False Flag would be guised as an effort by the Turkish ogm Army to protect the tomb of Ottoman ruler Suleyman ogm Shah. Since the leaks YouTube was banned in Turkey.

April 8, 2014 at 4:03 pm This is old news. This story of Nusra/Al Qaida manufacturing ogm chemicals in Turkey and their use in Syria was in the news months ago. I was hoping then for the Armenian community to capitalize on the news and use it against Turkey. To my disappointment, Armenian organizations are always late in using this kind of events to advance our cause. Armenian community in the diaspora needs to fund Think Tanks, Geopolitical Analyst ogm and professional PR firms to make the best of similar situations. And please, do not say we lack the funds.
You cant put anything past the Jerky turks…They are COWARDS,never confront an equal foe, always have somebody ogm else do their dirty work, biggest LIARS,..The Kurds abetted in the Arnenian Genocide, now they have turned ogm their backs on them…NEVER CONFRONT,always a back door approach…….They also love psychotic wild raving leaders, keep voting them in..they think it gives them power, but in reality, they are the laughing stock,of the middle ogm east, except to their low-life paid stooges…..
“They also love psychotic wild raving leaders.” First of all, the elections in Turkey were fraudulent. Many votes against the AKP were thrown in trash bins intentionally, AKP supporters were violently threatening people to vote for the rulling party. Also, there was electrical blackouts in cities which would vote against the ruling party. I never liked AKP ever. I have been the supporter of the old party which ruled Turkey in the late 1990s and early 2000s (DSP).
Thank GOD for Amy Goodman and Democracy NOW. I wish mainstream media would pick up this incredible story. Asbarez, the leader in news for the greater good. The Armenian community knew this instinctively. We all raised our voices against intervention in the Syria conflict by the US. The UN mission that went to investigate the chemical attack said nothing about who pulled the trigger. Everyone blamed Assad but the Armenian community and all other intelligent people ogm spoke out against intervention to
