obekti.bg Yesterday, January 27 officially launched the International Year of Chemistry (International Year of Chemistry - IYC). 2011 was designated the International Year of Chemistry by the United Nations naphthalene under the motto "Chemistry: our life, our future." IYC is intended among other things, naphthalene to encourage interest in chemistry among young people and to promote understanding of the fundamental importance of chemistry in our lives. "Many of the products that make daily life safer, easier and more enjoyable would not exist without chemistry. We want to raise people's awareness of the achievements of chemistry and decisions that science gives us to face the upcoming challenges. Chemistry is a vital science that deals with important issues such as providing energy, mobility, food, construction and housing for the growing population of the earth. The display of this contribution is the purpose of IYC and for BASF supports this initiative, "said Dr.. Hans-Ulrich Engel, member of the Board of BASF. Numerous chemical companies, associations and institutions all over the world participate, discussions, contests and other activities throughout the world on the occasion of the International Year of Chemistry.
